Scouting is a worldwide game for children & youths played in the Open air. It w as founded by lord Baden Powell in England in the Year 1907. It aims to development of young people in Achieving their full physical, intellectual, social & spiritual Potentials as responsible citizens and members of local, National & international community. This is a movement Based on the following principals ‐
“I promise to do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
To keep the Cub Law and
To do a Good-turn every day.”
The Cub salute is given by raising the right arm smartly To the level of the shoulder, palm to the front, first two fingers Stretched apart, first finger touching the forehead and the thumb Pressing on the last two fingers. After the salute the arm is Smartly brought down.
A boy who is a citizen of India and who has completed 10 but not 17 years of age is eligible to become a Scout,
Provided he subscribes to the Scout Promise and the Scout Law And becomes a member of Scout Troop. If a Scout continues to be in the School he should be allowed to remain in the unit till he is 18 years of age.
By the time a boy completes the full course of the Scout Programme, he will be able to:

The Scout motto is “Be Prepared”. This has to be achieved by being Physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.
The Scout sign is given by raising the right hand in level with the shoulder, palm to the front with three fingers stretched together and the thumb closing on the little finger.
The Scout Salute is given by raising the right arm smartly to the level of the shoulder, palm to the front with three fingers stretched together, the first touching the forehead above the centre of right eye brow and thumb closing on the little finger. After salute the arm is smartly brought down. If a stick or thumb stick is carried, it must be passed to left hand or kept under left arm pit. When a staff is carried the salute is given with left forearm bent at right angle at elbow with three fingers open, thumb closing on the little finger palm down wards, the first finger touching the staff. When hands are occupied, the salute is given by eyes left or right as the case may be.
Scouting /Guiding is an education movement based in open air games. Scout and guides earn through play way methods which integral development in a child, they become good leaders as well as good followers and true citizens of the country. They even remain physically fit and mentally alert and morally upright. They become self reliant and face challenges of life confidently with the motto “Be Prepared” and “Service to Others”.
To achieve all these SHS have regularly /Training sessions both for cubs/ bulbuls and scouts /guides on every Thursday during activity period. Some of the activities of cubs/bulbuls are tree decoration, salad preparation, den making, nest building, etc.
They are also taught how to make the maximum use of the minimum resources provided to them in case of adverse situations. Camps are held in the school as we as outside the school to test these skills. Scouts and guides make improvised shelter like tents, and cooked food with the maximum resources. There are nearly 100 students and 4 teachers involved in the movement. This year 6guides and 3scouts have successfully passed Tritya sopan and 1 scout and 1 guide will go for Rajya Puraskar this year. 1Guide attended the national camp this year on January 2018 in Bhubaneswar.
10 scouts and 10 Guides attended the State Rally in adra in December 2017. Nearly 20 scouts/guides attended the District Rally in March 2018. We had group camp where nearly 70 children’s attended the camp in Feb 2018. Nearly 10 children had factory visit in Anara in May 2018
The purpose of the Movement is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, social and spiritual and individuals as well as responsible citizens and as members of the local, national and international communities.
